In the Border City, our summer days are anticipated all year. Prairie summers are sweet but short-lived, so we get busy enjoying the great outdoors in every way possible: from lakeside campfires to markets, BBQs, carnivals, pop-up restaurants, and festivals. See how Lloydminster comes alive this summer!

 Make a Splash!

  • Soak up the sun at the Co-op Community Outdoor Pool. There are amenities available for all ages and swim levels, including a wading pool for little ones, water slides, personal floatation devices, and a small concession.
  • Bud Miller’s Spray Park offers aquatic entertainment for kids of all ages and plenty of covered picnic seating, so you can relax in the shade while your littleonessplash around
  • The Aurora Community Space, located at 4114 31st Street, includes a large playground and a 12-feature splash pad. The space is fully wheelchair accessible, with smooth surfaces and ramps so people using mobility aids can enjoy every corner! 

We All Scream for Ice Cream! 

  • Visit Filo, seasonally operated by Spiro’s Restaurant, for a wide variety of top-notch ice cream flavours, specialty crafted sundaes, and iced coffee.
  • The Scoop islocatedright outside of the Co-op Community Outdoor Pool. Stop by for their customer fav: deep fried ice cream!     
  • Bud Miller All Seasons Park has an outdoor concession window open during warmer months, so you can enjoy a jumbo cone during your stroll around the lake.
  • Take a short drive to Lower Shannon Farms and try ice cream, treats & other frozen eats atMemphster’sGrain Freeze Bin. This grain bin converted into an ice cream shop is quaint little place for a local outing. 
  • 15 minutes west of Lloydminster,you’llfind Mainstreet Scoops in Kitscoty, AB. It’s the perfect excuse for a cool afternoon treat, followed by a browse through Farmstead Market & More

Beach Day

Get that body to the beach while the sun is out to play! Sandy Beach Regional Park is just under 20 minutes North of town, making for a perfect mini-getawayFrom a 9-hole golf course to playgrounds, concessions, and space for gatherings, the whole family is sure to be entertained all day!

June 19, 2026, at the Lloydminster Exhibition Association. Ribfest is back with award-winning BBQ, live music, and nonstop good times. Come hungry and dig into fall-off-the-bone ribs, smoky brisket, and all your BBQ favourites from top pitmasters

Zulu Challenge Lloydminster

July 8-11, 2026, at the  Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds 

Our biggest summer event! Lloyd Ex Fair kicks off with a pancake breakfast and parade Downtown, followed by three days of nonstop entertainment for all ages. Come check out the Midway rides, animal shows, live entertainment, street food, and catch the dazzling fireworks finale show on Saturday night.

Maria’s Days 

August 13 –16, 2026, inside the Spiro’s parking lot 

This annual event hosted by Spiro’s Restaurant is a celebration of all things local, including our favourite Maria! It kicks off the weekend with a Thursday Night Market featuring local vendors, street food, and live musical talent. Friday evening is a parking lot concert, featuring local artists, and the final day wraps up with a pancake breakfast and Just Kruzin’ Car Show. Bring the whole family for some wholesome entertainment, kid’s activities, delicious treats, and much more!
