Primary and Post-Secondary Learning

Thank you for choosing Lloydminster for your children’s education! With three divisions to choose from: Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD), Lloydminster Catholic School Division (LCSD), and École Sans-Frontiéres (a francophone public school), you’ll easily find the school that suits your family’s needs. The respective websites feature information on registration, class schedules, before and after school care programs, plus programming and special offerings. 

For those who are graduating or have graduated, congrats! Have you considered staying in the beautiful Border City for your post-secondary schooling? Lloydminster is home to a number of post-secondary institutions including Reeves College and Lakeland College. Reeves College is a fast-track school that offers technical courses in business, including human resources and office administration, and in health care, such as medical office administration. Check their website for the full offering and to see which courses pique your interest.  

Lakeland College operates two campuses, one in Lloydminster and the other just a 30-minute drive west to Vermilion, Alta. The college offers a range of courses in a variety of disciplines including agriculture, trades (hairstyling, welding, power engineering, interior design, and more), business, health and wellness, to name a few. If you have future plans of attending University but aren’t quite ready to leave the nest, Lakeland College also offers university transfer programs. Students can begin their post-secondary journey from the comfort of their home community. 

Each campus specializes in specific disciplines, so keep this in mind when planning your post-secondary future. Vermilion’s campus is home to the School of Agriculture and features an on-campus student-lead farm. Lloydminster is home to University Transfer, the School of Business, and several trades including heavy oil operations technology (HOOT), hairstyling, and more. The Lloydminster campus is also home to the soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams who make up Rustlers Athletics. The Vermilion campus is home to curling, cross-country, and rowing. 

For those who want to pursue learning at every age, there are many adult and youth classes available. To start, check out the courses offered by the Lloydminster Learning Council. They offer conversational language classes, computer classes, and english as a second language (ESL) courses, among many others. Lakeland College also offers night classes on a wide variety of special interest topics including language, art, culture, and business.
